Getting wet and wild whilst travelling through some of Southern Africa’s most dramatic scenery, Donald MacSween (24) and Janice Ann MacKay (20) experience a fresh kind of adrenaline rush as they meet some of the continent’s untamed residents up close and personal!
  We travelled with:

Acacia

Confronted by the scale of Africa - huge skies, open plains and endless waterways populated by some of the most awesome wildlife in the world; our young adventurers are constantly kept wide eyed by their unexpected & often hairy encounters. Challenged with camping alone in tents, trying to sleep to the sounds of nearby predators and trekking unarmed in the wild African bush contrasts dramatically with the familiar comforts and much safer lifestyle of their homes on the Isle of Lewis. Fears are confronted, pulses raised, nerves and boundaries are stretched as amazingly close contact with elephants, hippos & rhinos and even closer ones with weird creepy crawlies remind our duo that they're a long way from home!

Exploring the waterways of the muggy Okavango Delta, the serene and beautiful Zambezi River and the dramatic Victoria Falls combined with exhausting treks under the hot African summer sun brings highs and lows in a wilderness far removed from the winter in Scotland they left behind. This must see programme brings Janice and Donald closer to unusual creatures and a surreal outdoor life than they could ever imagine.
